Open Question: 1 guy, 2 girls in Jaco, Costa Rica. Safe or Not? How's the crime rate in Jaco, Costa Rica?

Okay, so I'm taking my girlfriend to Costa Rica and we're meeting her girlfriend coming in from Russia to stay for 2 weeks in Jaco. We're renting a house. We're not staying in a hotel. My question is how safe is Jaco for 1 guy (me I'm 34, latino, I speak spanish) and two russian ladies (25 & 23) We intend to take a sidetrip and drive to neighboring Manuel Antonio.
